    Important Notes

    We make a 10mm deduction to the width and drop of your blind if ordered fitting type “inside recess”. This adjustment is made to  enable the blind to fit within your window space.

    If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make any deduction, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

    Day & Night blinds are supplied with universal brackets which provide options for both top and face fixtures. For a fitting inside your window’s recess, the minimum recess depth varies it depends on the chosen headrail option. (Please read our Measuring Guide)

    Delivery & Returns

    Delivery:

    We dispatch all Made to Measure/Made to Order orders within 2 - 6 weeks of purchase, whereas Standard products usually within 7 days of purchase, however, dispatch varies. For details, see individual items. We aim to reduce greenhouse gas emission through consolidated shipments where possible. For example, if you order a Standard product together with Made to Measure/Made to Order product, they will arrive together within 2 - 6 weeks of purchase.

    When one of our courier partners has collected your order, we'll email you the tracking number and the link so you can track it all the way to the door. If the product arrives damaged, please notify us immediately, do not discard the packaging.

    Made to Measure / Made to Order Returns:

    All our Roman blinds, Day & Night blinds, curtains and other soft furnishings are made to order and we don’t stock ready-made products, therefore, once they are made, they are only suitable for your use. Your order cannot be cancelled or returned unless faulty or not made in accordance with your specifications.

    If your product develops a fault we’ll repair or replace the product in accordance with the terms of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

    We're so confident in the quality of our products, we provide a free, 5 - year guarantee on all of our Roman blinds and curtains.

    The below are not considered as faults and therefore cannot be repaired or replaced:

    * Fabrics and dyes - normal fading
    * Normal tear and wear
    * Accident
    * Alteration
    * Exposure to elements
    * Misuse
    * Failure to follow measurement, installation, cleaning or maintenance instructions
    * Fitted in a non domestic environment

    Conditions of return:

    Buyers are responsible for return postage costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

    Returning a Standard item:

    If an item is not the perfect match, you can return it for a refund within 14 days of delivery in the original condition and packaging. If the product is ruined or used the product shall not be refunded. Please email to info@design-jr.com  before returning any items!

    Make sure to include dispatch note with the return and if possible, please provide us with a tracking number and a brief description of your case.

    Design-JR suggests you get a receipt and a package ID for the return from the delivery service, as it makes it easier to follow the return shipment if needed.

    Please note that you are responsible for the costs of returning items!

    Shipping costs are non-refundable!

    If you are shipping an item over £75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

    Replacing Damaged Items or Missing Parts:

    If your order arrives damaged or defective, we can offer a replacement unit or parts at no cost. Simply report a damaged item to info@design-jr.com

    You may have to upload a picture of the damaged item. We recommend that you inspect your item upon delivery and report any issues within 3 days of receiving the item, do not discard the packaging.

    Refunds:

    Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

    If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. It can take up to 14 days for the refund to appear in your bank account, but we will keep you informed at each stage of our process.

    The following products will not be eligible for refund (unless faulty or not as described):

    • Products you received over 14 days ago
    • Products without original packaging or labels
    • Products or packaging in poor condition
    • Where a product has been personalized for you, or made to your specific measurements
    • Products that cannot be returned for hygiene reasons

    Late or Missing Refunds:

    If you have not received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your bank, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at  info@design-jr.com

    Before you get to work on fitting your new blinds, make sure you consider these factors:
    • Is the surface that you’re fitting the blind onto an appropriate material?
    • Do you have children and/or pets? If so, remember that the drawstrings on your blinds could be dangerous and cause accidents.
    • Are there any obstructions that could hinder the opening and closing of your blinds? Once you’ve taken these things into account, you can get started on putting your new blinds in place.
    • You will need: Electric drill, Screwdriver, Pencil

    • Fitting components: L-hooks (for face fixing only), Clips (brackets), Screws&plug, Child safety P clip

    Part 1: Fitting the brackets

    Important Note - Day & Night blinds are supplied with universal brackets which provide options for both top and face fixtures. For a fitting inside your window's recess, the minimum recess depth varies it depends on the chosen headrail option.

    Open Frame - minimum recess depth is 5cm

    Covered Frame - minimum recess depth is 8.5cm

    Pelmeted Frame - minimum recess depth is 7.5cm

    Place the brackets where you would prefer your blind to hang, whether that’s inside or outside your window recess.
    But keep in mind – if the width of your blind is longer than 150cm, you must add an extra bracket to the middle. If it is longer than 220cm, use two extra brackets with equal distances. Whichever one applies, your first and last brackets must always be positioned 5cm inside from both ends.

    For Top Fixing (to the ceiling):

    1-Position the brackets against the surface and make a mark out from the holes on the top of each bracket with your pencil.
    2-Using your electric drill, make holes around 3cm deep with 6mm bid.
    3-Secure the plugs into the holes.
    4-Place the bracket on the plug and screw in using the screws provided.
    Repeat the steps above for all of the brackets.

    For Face Fixing (to the wall or the window frame):

    1 - Position the L-hook against the surface and make a mark with your pencil from the holes of the L-hook.
    2 - Using your electric drill, make holes around 3cm deep with 6mm bid.
    3 - Secure the plugs into the holes.
    4 - Place the L-hook onto the plug and screw in using the screws provided.
    5 - Repeat the steps above for the rest of the L-hooks.
    6 - Place your bracket on the L-hooks in the same direction and turn it 90 degrees until it is fastened.

    Part 2: Fitting the blind:

    1 - Take your new blind and wind it up fully.
    2 - Secure your blind’s headrail to both brackets, starting from back to front.
    3 - Press up onto the headrail until you hear it click into place.
    4 - Then, check your new blind is working as it should by pulling on its chain to fully extend it.

    Part 3: Fitting the safety device

    1 - Find the lowest point of your blind’s hanging chain.
    2 - Hook the chain onto the safety device, ensuring it securely holds the chain in place.
    3 - Place the screws on top of the holes, and drill gently until they are fully in place and the device is securely attached to the wall.

    WARNING!
    The chains that operate the product can be dangerous for children and pets. Cords may wrap around a child’s neck. According to UK regulations, the chain must be mounted on the wall with a child lock. Move beds, cots and furniture away from window covering cords.

    Measuring Guide

    How to Measure for Day & Night Blinds

    First, decide where you want the blind to hang, this can be either inside the recess or outside of the recess.

    Now check there are no obstructions inside or outside the window recess where the blind will hang, for example, look out for handles, part tiling, or windows that open inwards. If you need advice, call us or even send us a photo info@design-jr.com

    Inside Recess Measurement (Recess Fit)

    Check your window recess is deep enough for the blind to fit inside. If no obstructions measure directly from the window frame to the edge of the recess. Make sure the recess depth is at least the number given below, otherwise it will not be able to accommodate the operating mechanism of a chosen frame design.

    Open Frame Blind – 8cm

    Covered Frame Blind – 10cm

    Pelmeted Frame Blind – 10cm

    Please consider any obstructions inside the recess such as handle, ventilation, or anything else and measure directly from them to the edge of the recess.  Make sure the recess depth is at least the number given below, otherwise it will not be able to accommodate the operating mechanism of a chosen frame design.

    Open Frame Blind – 11cm

    Covered Frame Blind – 13cm

    Pelmeted Frame Blind – 13cm

    Step 1: Measure the width of your recess at three locations. The top, middle and bottom. Record the smallest measurement.

    Step 2: Measure the drop of your recess at three locations. The left, middle and right. Record the smallest measurement.

    Don’t make any deductions, we’ll make it for you to ensure your blind fits perfectly just give us the smallest numbers you have recorded for the width and drop.

    If you have a partly tiled window recess in your kitchen or bathroom, in this case, the recess width should be measured between tiles.

    Outside Recess Measurement (Exact Fit)

    Decide how far you want the blind to overlap the wall.

    Step 1: Measure the outside of your window recess from one side to another from the point you want. We recommend that overlap should be at least 7cm from each side, in order to minimise as much of external light as possible.

    Step 2: Measure the outside of your window recess from the top to the bottom, from the height at which you want the cassette system to sit. It should be positioned at least 7cm above the window, down to the point you want the bottom bar to stop.

     Warning!

    Young children can be strangled by the loops in pull chains that operate this product. To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep chains out of reach of young children. Chains may become wrapped around a child’s neck. Move cots and furniture away from window covering chains.child-safety-first-blinds
